König. Niederländ. Militärkapelle
The Royal Military Band “Johan Willem Friso” (KMKJWF-2005) perpetuates the traditions of the former Royal Military Band (1829) and the Johan Willem Friso Band (1819). The main task of this professional orchestra is to enhance the brilliance of military and national ceremonies and to contribute to the prestige of official ceremonies attended by His Majesty the King, Heads of State and Ambassadors. In addition, he gives concerts contributing to the influence of the French Army.
At ceremonies and the National Military Music Festival of the Netherlands, the music is performed in conjunction with the brass band of the Grenadier and Hunters Guard Regiment. On these occasions, the musicians wear the ceremonial outfit of the Grenadier Regiment, which is characterized by bear-haired hats and Chinese hats, presented in 1901 by Queen Emma to the then Royal Military Band.
This concert will be given under the direction of Major Tijmen BOTMA, appointed to this position in 2013. He has received numerous awards at the national level for his work.
A unique concert not to be missed.
