Lilly Wood and The Prick – 24 October
Since Invincible Friends (2010), which won the Victoire de la Musique award for Best New Artist, Lilly Wood and The Prick have built up a repertoire that many people know without even realising it. Their songs are instantly recognisable, carried by catchy melodies and direct lyrics.
On stage, the band plays on this familiarity: the songs take on greater significance, the choruses are repeated, and the energy flows naturally. There is a very special blend of emotion and pop effectiveness, between more restrained moments and clearly unifying passages.
It’s a concert that works because it’s sincere, controlled, and leaves plenty of room for the songs – the ones we expect to hear and the ones we rediscover live.
Una Roberta – 27 September
With Una Roberta, the starting point is simple: arriving in Luxembourg without speaking French… and discovering a country where everyone has a very strong opinion about language, cuisine and customs.
An Italian living here, she recounts this culture shock with humour and lucidity.
Her show is built around very concrete anecdotes: aperitifs, flirting, expressions, clichés… and that famous subject that really upsets everyone: football. Her observational humour, fuelled by real-life experiences, appeals to expats and locals alike and makes people laugh because it rings true.
Jimmy Sax – 10 October
With Jimmy Sax, you don’t just come to listen to a musician, you come to see a show. His saxophone is at the centre of everything: he moves around, interacts with the music, builds tension and revives the energy. Each piece is constructed like a crescendo, with a very precise sense of rhythm and impact.
