If I were a rhyme-loving songwriter, I’d say ‘I’ll pass, and tell you my story’, because that’s what it’s all about! How do you start making music and why? Why is it the only profession that you don’t choose, but that chooses you? My programme will be made up of answers to all these questions. I’ll take it in turns to share with you the elements of my career: the songs of others that made me want to sing, my own songs that made me want to continue, including my whole ‘Fredericks Goldman Jones’ period, and then the songs that made those for whom I wrote them want to continue singing too, including the songs I wrote for Johnny Hallyday, Joe Cocker and Ray Charles.

All I want to do now is ‘pass the baton’… with you!
