Having previously featured personalities from worlds as varied as sport, the media, culture and luxury, Stars & Stories is this time putting mixology in the spotlight. On Thursday 17 December, Pierre Munier will be sharing his journey, his passion and a behind-the-scenes look at a profession where precision, creativity and a refined palate come together as one.
From gastronomy to world champion
Originally from Épinal in the Vosges, Pierre Munier took his first steps in the world of gastronomy in the kitchen before moving into front-of-house roles and then behind the bar. His professional career has taken him to England, France, Luxembourg and Belgium, experiences which have gradually shaped his personal vision of the cocktail.
An approach he likes to describe as ‘liquid gastronomy’, where the bartender’s techniques meet ingredients, spices, regional terroirs and the exacting standards of haute cuisine.
His talent and technical mastery propelled him to the very highest level of competition: French cocktail champion in 2024, Pierre Munier went on to win the world title in November 2025 at the International Bartenders Association World Cocktail Championship, held in Cartagena, Colombia.
