On Sunday 12 July 2026, the town of Remich hosted another edition of the Ironman 70.3 Luxembourg, a must-attend sporting event. Set against a backdrop of vineyard landscapes, a festive atmosphere and a high-level physical challenge, the event once again brought together hundreds of athletes who had come to push themselves to the limit in the heart of the Moselle region.
A unique triathlon at the heart of three countries
The Remich Ironman 70.3 stands out for its exceptional cross-border route. Typically, triathletes begin with a 1.9 km swim in the Moselle on the German side, before continuing with a 90 km cycle through Luxembourg and France, amidst the vineyards and picturesque villages of the valley. The race concludes with a 21.1 km half-marathon along the banks of the Moselle, in an atmosphere fuelled by the Remich crowd.
This event, also known as the Half Ironman, covers a total of 113 kilometres – half the distance of a standard Ironman. It is a demanding challenge that requires endurance, strategy and mental strength.
Swimming cancelled, but the challenge goes ahead
The 2026 event will go down as a special one. Due to the presence of blue-green algae in the Moselle and a heatwave, the swimming section was cancelled to ensure the athletes’ safety.
Despite this last-minute change, the competition went ahead as a duathlon (cycling + running). This situation did nothing to dampen the participants’ enthusiasm, as they were determined to see the challenge through to the end.
Two CASINO 2000 teams competing in the relay
CASINO 2000 from Mondorf-les-Bains was proudly represented by two teams competing in the relay:
– Team 1: Laurent, Maxime and Rémi
– Team 2: Nicolas and Simon
In a spirit of team spirit and collective performance, both teams demonstrated excellent teamwork in tackling this demanding course.

Impressive performances at the finish
Despite challenging weather conditions and a modified format, the CASINO 2000 teams finished the event in fine style. Team 2 secured a remarkable 8th place, whilst Team 1 finished 17th out of 46 relay teams
These results are a testament to their preparation, their commitment and the strong team spirit within CASINO 2000.
The spirit of sport at the heart of the event
Beyond the rankings, this edition of the Remich Ironman 70.3 once again highlighted the fundamental values of sport: pushing oneself to the limit, solidarity and resilience.
Faced with the unexpected, every participant was able to adapt and draw on their inner strength to cross the finish line. The CASINO 2000 teams perfectly embody this spirit, having risen to this collective challenge with determination and enthusiasm.
Remich: triathlon capital for a weekend
With this international event, Remich has cemented its status as a major sporting destination in Luxembourg. Combining seamless organisation, a spectacular course and a friendly atmosphere, the Ironman 70.3 has established itself as an unmissable event for triathlon enthusiasts.
The 2026 edition was characterised by adaptability, performance and team spirit… and will undoubtedly remain etched in the memories of participants and spectators alike.
We look forward to seeing you in 2027 for the next edition!
